Initial Inspection and Evaluation

ABC will conduct a thorough inspection of the premises by one of our licensed inspectors. This will allow us to:

• Assess the situation and identify conducive conditions for pests
• Identify pests and any related damage
• Evaluate sanitation practices and structural problems, which may contribute to pest infestation
• Customize a pest treatment and control program best suited for your home

After the inspection, the inspector will thoroughly explain his/her findings and answer any questions you may have.

Initial Treatment

We'll provide coverage for the interior and exterior of your home with the goal of eliminating all crawling pests in your home. The treatment is simple and is scheduled at your convenience.

On all regularly scheduled follow up visits, the Specialist will:

• Treat exterior perimeter of the structure – including the dusting wall voids, weep holes electric lines, AC lines and other potential insect entry points into the structure
• Inspect the yard for conducive conditions for all crawling insects, including ants
• Treat insect harborage areas in the yard.
• If necessary, inspect/treat interior of structure

At any time between scheduled visits, you are encouraged to call ABC if you discover pests in your home and need a specialist to provide additional treatment.

Ant Control

Ants have become the number one pest in homes and structures around the country. Georgia has several types that are common invaders. Fire ants, carpenter ants, sugar ants, rover ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, leaf cutter ants and many more. Ants can cause damage to lawns, plants, wood and food. Some can bite and sting causing health problems. They are very resourceful and can adapt to changing environments. Their populations can explode in short periods of time in and around your home. They can be very difficult to control without knowledge of the biology of the particular ant being dealt with. It is common to have problems with several different types of ants at one time.

ABC will send out a licensed inspector to determine which types of ants are currently invading your home and property. They will inspect and identify conditions conducive for ants as well as assess sanitation practices that may contribute to ant infestations. Finally customize a program that fits you and your home.

Then ABC will send a highly trained specialist to the home to perform an initial treatment targeted for the current ant problem as well as protecting the home from other ants and additional pest pressure. Bed Bug Control

Bed Bug infestations are on the rise in Georgia. They are easily transferred by people or possessions in homes, hotels, college dorms, and apartments. They hide in cracks and crevices during the day and come out at night in search of a blood meal.

Bed Bug Basics

Bed Bugs are reappearing in hotels and multi-unit lodging properties across the country. Bed Bugs feed on blood and come out at night to search for food. They are small, flattened insects that easily fit into small cracks and crevices. They can be found in mattresses, mattress frames, behind headboards, behind baseboards and behind pictures. Bed Bugs can crawl up to 100 feet in search of food.

What Does A Bed Bug Bite Look Like?

Bed bugs are attracted to sleeping people by their body temperature and odors. Bed Bug bites are generally painless but occasionally a person will wake up to find bed bugs feeding. The bite site may turn red within hours or a reaction may be delayed by a few days.

Signs Of Bed Bugs

Because of their habits, bed bugs are often not detected even when they feed on room occupants. Dark fecal spots, cast skins and crushed Bed Bugs are all signs of possible infestation. Bites may come from a variety of other insects, but when combined with the other signs of Bed Bugs, they can be a good indicator that live bed bugs are still present.

This device can detect Bed Bugs at the initial stages of infestation but are rather noticeable and may not be appropriate for all situations.

One issue with preventive applications is that Bed Bug activity is often centered on the bed and mattresses and should not be treated routinely. Because Bed Bugs can hide in any small crack or crevice, the entire room would have to be thoroughly treated, and even then they could still live on the bed successfully. Preventive applications of inorganic dusts, such as diatomaceous earth and silica gel, into wall voids and behind headboards can help suppress the spread of Bed Bugs without causing exposure to your guests.

Mattress Encasement

While they do not prevent Bed Bugs, Bed Bug-proof encasements on the mattress and box springs will prevent Bed Bugs from entering these areas. This simplifies detection and removal of the Bed Bugs. Encasements also save expensive mattress sets.

What can you do to help prevent infestations?

Bee & Wasp Control

These insects are usually of the highest concern for homeowners. The dangers associated with bees and wasps make them a priority when discovered. Wasps build their nests on the outside of homes, in attics, on bushes, trees, sheds, playscapes and even in the ground. Then a trained specialist with a variety of products performs an initial treatment for fleas. Applications are tailored to each structure and yard based on infestation level, host availability and environmental conditions.

A customized maintenance program performed by a trained specialist allows preventative products to be applied in applications in specific areas outside the home to reduce flea populations.

Scorpion Control Services

Scorpions are prevalent in Georgia. They are drawn to homes and buildings by the moisture in lawns and landscaping, by the lights around structures at night, and by encroachment of of people into their native habitat. Once they have entered a structure, they will find conducive areas in and around the home to harbor and continue to increase their population. ABC will send out a licensed inspector to evaluate the home and property for conditions conducive for scorpion activity as well as entry places around the perimeter of the structure.

Then a highly trained specialist will perform an initial scorpion treatment utilizing our proven techniques that include mechanical, environmental and chemical methods. This is designed to reduce or eliminate the current population.

Then our maintenance program allows our specialists to inspect for new activity and any physical changes of the structure. At this time, we reapply our chemical barrier around the outside. This replaces the barrier that would be beginning to break down providing continuous protection.

Spider Control Services

Spiders can be found in every home in Georgia. The diversity of species and the sheer number of spiders found on a single property makes them extremely difficult to eliminate. Most spiders can bite, but two can be severely dangerous to most people: the Black Widow and the Brown Recluse. Spiders hide in out of the way places and can often avoid pesticide residuals, which makes them difficult to control.

An ABC licensed inspector can assess the home and property to locate areas that are conducive to spider infestations. Spider problems usually begin from outside, then spread into the home as populations expand.
