How does it work?

Despite the tankless water heater's small size (think medium-sized suitcase!), it provides you with a continuous flow of hot water for your home. The tankless water heater works smoothly and easily through a few steps initiating from the moment the hot water tap is turned on. A water flow sensor detects the water flow when the water enters the heater. The sensor tells the system to ignite the burner and water is circulated through the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger then heats the water to the temperature you specify. Once the tap is turned off, the unit is shut down and does not retain any unwanted energy. The heat exchanger works the same way in a gas-burning tankless water heater as in an electric model. The tankless water heater adapts to your hot water needs, whenever.

While a traditional tank heater heats cold water slowly at the bottom of the tank as the customer is having to get rid of the heated water stored in the top of the tank, the tankless water heater generates a continuous flow of hot water whenever you want it. ABC Handyman will work with you to install the heater correctly in your home, so that continuous hot water can be a reality for you and your family.

Advantage 1 - Continuous flow of water

Say goodbye to running out of hot water with the tankless water heater! Because the tankless model is designed to heat the water as the water flows through the heater, and does not retain any water internally except for what is in the heat exchanger, there is a never ending flow of water available to fulfill all your household needs. The tankless model is specifically designed to deliver as much as 14.3 gallons of hot water per minute continuously. A variety of models exists that will make as little as 4.5 gallons per minute! The hot water heater experts at ABC Handyman are educated and trained on the features and functions of the different models we offer and can provide guidance to you on what is best for your home and family.

Advantage 2 - Energy conservation

The ABC Handyman are hot water heater experts and understand that customers in today's world demand more – especially in time when such importance is placed on protection of our environment. Any tank water heater expert will tell you that tankless water heaters are energy-efficient. But how does that energy efficiency translate into saving dollars for you?

Tankless water heaters can save you over 50% of a traditional tank heater's energy costs! Unlike tankless models, tank heaters can often produce unwanted radiant heat that can cause your air conditioning to work overtime to keep your home cool. Tankless water heaters only heat water when you are using it and do not waste energy. The traditional tank heater contains burners that switch on and off while a pilot light wastes away 24 hours a day.

Advantage 3 - More space

Space can be a problem for many homeowners. With the tankless water heater, you won't need to worry about finding space to fit the heater in – because of its uniquely small size, an ABC Handyman can install a tankless model in tight places where the traditional water heater would not otherwise fit. A traditional tank heater must be stored in a space that will support 400-600 pounds. A tankless water heater provides you with that extra space that you can utilize for something else to fit your life better.

Advantage 4 - Long Life

Replacing appliances can be costly, not to mention a huge time consumption in picking out new models and having to reinstall a new system. With the tankless water heater, you can avoid the frequency of replacing it because it lasts at least 20 years! The average amount of time that a traditional tank heater lasts is anywhere from only 6 to 10 years. ABC Handyman works with customers to choose the most appropriate tankless water heater for your home because we understand that having the right model is instrumental in maintaining it. Of course, if you ever face a problem with your tankless water heater, you can get it repaired easily, unlike a traditional water heater that usually requires a replacement if a malfunction occurs.

Advantage 5 - It costs less!

Owning a tankless water heater can impact your home in more ways than just energy efficiency and durability. The costs of purchasing and installing a tankless water heater in your home can range from $2,100 to $3,800 and will depend on the size of your home and the model that is best for you. With the purchase of a tankless water heater, you can be sure that the investment will provide the most benefits for you and your family. The ABC Handyman experts on tank water heaters know that every customer is different – we offer gas and electric models that are specifically designed to accommodate Texas weather.
