Pest Control Technicians

Job Description:

Provide pest control, termite control, animal trapping, dead animal removal, and rodent proofing of residential homes and commercial establishments by placing pest control materials; conducting inspections; resolving customer pest needs and structurally modifying building to keep animals out.

Compensation: $27,000 to 45,000 a year after training (you are paid a commission of production based on your applicable commission rate).

Training period: 4 - 8 weeks (depending on experience) and will include classroom and on the job training. You will take tests throughout the training. You will be required to take State exams
Salary paid while training: $85.00 per day.

Description: Service Technicians are expected to work at least 5 days a week and work every other Saturday. You must be a detailed person, who enjoys dealing with people, enjoys working outdoors, able to work from a ladder and on roofs, handle dead animals, have some carpentry skills and be able to drive a manual shift truck.

Duties:
  • Perform service route that has been scheduled by exact time by the office.
  • Evaluate pest control situation by inspecting conditions; identifying new infestations and determining causes; analyzing treatment, prevention, and exclusion options.
  • Enter/exit structures, crawl spaces, climb over or on top of structures, and ascend/descend stairs.
  • Place pest control materials by determining appropriate bait, including gels, dust, granules, and liquids; applying pest control materials to interior and exterior.
  • Presents new services that can be offered by ABC.
  • Collects revenue by obtaining service verifications.
  • Completes records by entering required information.
  • Will be required to pick up dead animals.
  • Maintains quality results by adhering to company standards.
  • Read and write reports; comprehend pesticide labels and training materials printed in English.
  • Complete designated work within day or month assigned.
  • Attend weekly training meetings at 7:00 AM.
  • Maintains safe work habits by following company standards.
  • Utilize O.S.H.A. mandated personal protective equipment.
  • Utilize application equipment, inspection equipment and small hand/power tools.
  • Participates in Company sponsored continuing education classes.
  • Educate clients in proper sanitation as a part of the pest control program.
  • Interface with employees at different levels
  • Operates a manual shift truck.
Requirements:
  • Must pass background check.
  • Must pass driving record check.
  • Must pass physical examination.
  • Must pass drug test.
  • Must pass SPBC exams (at a later date)
  • Must posses a valid driver’s license.
  • May be required to posses a Commercial Driver’s License.

  • High School education is required
  • Employee must be 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in extermination/pest control is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Employer provides classroom and on-the-job training during the first several months of employment and continuous training thereafter.
  • Following on-the-job training and the requirements, employee may be required to complete state certification/licensing process.
