Composting & Aeration
One of the best things a homeowner can do for their Central Texas lawn is the addition of aeration and compost. By aerating and applying compost, an extra supply of nutrients can flow to the roots. At ABC, we call this our Aeration and Power Composting, program. It’s truly one of the most organic “boosts” available for turf enhancement. Plus, with aeration and composting, soil will retain and use moisture more efficiently.
ABC's aeration program uses a small machine - about the size of a lawn mower - to loosen the soil by punching small holes down into the turf. When the soil is loosened, moisture and nutrients can more easily be delivered to the roots of the turf.
ABC's power composting program consists of adding a blown in layer of natural compost – about 1/4 of an inch – to the aerated turf. Planting beds can also have compost added.
