Weeds that are choked off from a continuous source of water will quickly shrivel up and die.

You should also be prepared to nurture your lawn the old-fashioned way. There’s perhaps no better method of eliminating weeds than pulling them out with a little elbow grease. With a pair of gloves, you can neatly and efficiently yank the culprits out of the soil. As a general rule, pulling weeds out with your hands works best after a rain event. Hoeing works best when the soil has been dry for an extended period.
