Frequently Asked Questions
What's are the key differences between ABC's basic mowing and premier mowing plans?
In short, Premium mowing includes additional areas of service that Basic does not. Here’s what’s offered from each area of service:
Basic Mowing Program
- Mowing turf grass areas (doesn’t include bagging of clippings) edging, and string line trimming along hardscape edges – sidewalks, sidewalk cracks, retaining walls, border edges, fences, foundations and driveways. Also, blowing off driveways, sidewalks, porches, and decks.
- Herbicides will be applied to sidewalk cracks, driveway cracks, and obvious delineated walk paths.
Premier Mowing Program
- Mowing turf grass areas, (doesn’t include bagging of clippings) edging, and string line trimming along hardscape edges – sidewalks, sidewalk cracks, retaining walls, border edges, fences, foundations and driveways. Also, blowing off driveways, sidewalks, porches, and decks.
- Pruning and shaping of shrub and ornamental trees & shrubs/trees below 8’ to desired shape or to maintain natural form as needed. Removal of dead plant parts and broken shrub branches. Also, removal of dead plants after customer is notified. Plant growth regulators may be used to help achieve desired maintenance frequency on some shrubs.
- Planter bed maintenance includes blowing and removal of leaf litter created by pruning, blowing and removing leaf build up. Plus, removal of debris under shrubs, and hand pulling large weeds. Can also include post emergent herbicide applications for weed control and removal of volunteer plants.
- Seasonally appropriate application of pre-emergent herbicide to help lesson weed issues.
What's the difference between an initial visit and an ongoing visit?
When you speak with our lawn pros, you’ll hear them reference an “initial” visit and ongoing service visits. An initial visit may take longer to perform and involves getting the lawn to a “base level” that can be maintained throughout the course of your 12 month contract. This initial visit is detailed & priced separately in our lawn agreement. Then, based on the size and complexity of your yard (and your choice of Premier or Basic service), a second price is prepared. It represents the full year of cost of service. We then divide that total by 12 to give you a flat monthly price.
How does the amount of visits translate to a calendar year?
All mowing packages are based on a 12 month period, and you may begin service at any time during that year.
- 26 mowing service program includes service every other week throughout the year for a total of 26 visits.
- 34 mowing service program includes service every week – April through October. Then, service every other week – November and March. One mow per month – December, January and February.
- 43 mowing service program includes service every week – March through October. Then, during Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb, it’s every other week, for a total of 43 visits.
Are there additional services for me to consider with my mowing?
Yes! Things like planting bed maintenance, adding and removing plants for seasonal color, twice-yearly leaf removal, mulching of beds, and more, are all available. We also offer complete fertilization plans for turf, shrubs and trees can be added to both the Premier and Basic plans. Talk to one of our lawn specialists for details on any of these add-ons.

“This is my first time ever using ABC Home and Commercial Services. Kevin provided a quote and pricing promptly. He was very professional and knowledgeable not to mention, kind and respectful. They provided service the next day & sent all the necessary information to prepare us for their visit. We were notified that Jose would be doing the work & the approximate arrival time. Jose was professional, courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend this company.”

“Maurice did an excellent job. He identified all the possible entry points for the rodents and plugged all the holes to prevent future entry. He set all the traps in the attic and the garage where there was evidence of the rodents. He was so professional and courteous. It was a pleasure to work with him. Next year, I would love to have him do the inspection again. Excellent job. Thank you.”
