How do you set the price for each job?
We offer handyman services by the half day and full day. A half day is four hours and a full day is eight hours. Many homeowners find that their projects can fit into a half day time period.
Once you contact us and tell us about what you have in mind, we will recommend either a half or full day block. Your work will be scheduled with a craftsman whose skills best fit your projects.
For bigger jobs, we’ll send a specialist to your home to do a complimentary walk-through before your project begins. You will be provided with a written estimate which will include all associated costs to get your project done, so you won’t have to deal with hidden costs or any surprises.
Why do you only schedule four or eight hour time blocks?
After years of providing New Braunfels homeowners with handyman services, we have found that most homeowners projects are relatively small and can be done in a few hours. Rather than us give you an estimate for a small job, ABC’s experienced craftsmen operate on a flat-fee basis to take care of a range of home improvement tasks within a specified time period.
When necessary, larger multi-day painting or carpentry jobs will be priced and performed on a written estimate basis with the scope of the job provided in detailed and written bid form.
With ABC’s help, homeowners can save precious free time and avoid any possible repair or installation mistakes that may cause problems in the long run.
What happens if the work is not finished in the time allotted?
In the rare case that your project is not completed when your block of time is up, your ABC craftsman will let you know how much more time is needed to finish the work. At that time, it is up to you to agree to the additional costs associated with the extra time spent.
If you have a list of tasks, we recommend that you give them to us by priority, so that your most important items are handled first. It’s also strongly suggested that you have all the materials on hand that the handyman may need to complete your project. They will have all the tools necessary, and basic materials like screws, nails, tape, adhesives, etc. They’re more than able to run to a big box store, but any time spent driving or shopping for items, does count as part of the four or eight hour time block.
How soon can you start on my projects?
We understand how time-sensitive these tasks can be. Once you contact us, we’ll do our best to get you the earliest possible appointment that fits your schedule. Depending on workload, some projects can be started in only a couple of days, while others may take several days for other projects to finish. Once you reach out, we’ll work on getting you on our schedule.
How do I get my home ready for ABC's handyman services?
There are a few things you can do to make the best use of the time the ABC specialist has in your home:
- Before your handyman arrives, move furniture away from the work area
- Keep pets and children away from the area where the handyman is working
- Be available to answer any questions your specialist might have while they are on site
