Frequently Asked Questions
What's are the key differences between ABC's basic mowing and premier mowing plans?
Premium mowing includes additional areas of service that Basic does not. Here’s what’s offered from each area of service:
Basic Mowing Program
- Mowing turf grass areas (doesn’t include bagging of clippings) edging, and string line trimming along hardscape edges – sidewalks, sidewalk cracks, retaining walls, border edges, fences, foundations and driveways. Also, blowing off driveways, sidewalks, porches, and decks.
- Herbicides will be applied to sidewalk cracks, driveway cracks, and obvious delineated walk paths.
Premier Mowing Program
- Mowing turf grass areas, (doesn’t include bagging of clippings) edging, and string line trimming along hardscape edges – sidewalks, sidewalk cracks, retaining walls, border edges, fences, foundations and driveways. Also, blowing off driveways, sidewalks, porches, and decks.
- Pruning and shaping of shrub and ornamental trees & shrubs/trees below 8’ to desired shape or to maintain natural form as needed. Removal of dead plant parts and broken shrub branches. Also, removal of dead plants after customer is notified. Plant growth regulators may be used to help achieve desired maintenance frequency on some shrubs.
- Planter bed maintenance includes blowing and removal of leaf litter created by pruning, blowing and removing leaf build up. Plus, removal of debris under shrubs, and hand pulling large weeds. Can also include post emergent herbicide applications for weed control and removal of volunteer plants.
- Seasonally appropriate application of pre-emergent herbicide to help lesson weed issues.
What's the difference between an initial visit and an ongoing visit?
When you speak with our lawn pros, you’ll hear them reference an “initial” visit, then ongoing service visits. An initial visit may take longer to perform and involves getting the lawn to a “base level” that can be maintained throughout the course of your 12 month contract. This initial visit is detailed & priced separately in our lawn agreement. Then, based on the size and complexity of your yard (and your choice of Premier or Basic service), a second price is prepared. It represents the full year of cost of service. We then divide that total by 12 to give you a flat monthly price.
Can you break down the amount of visits vs an annual calendar?
All mowing packages are based on a 12 month period with the option to begin service at any time during the year.
- 26 mowing service program includes service every other week throughout the year for a total of 26 visits.
- 34 mowing service program includes service every week – April through October. Then, service every other week – November and March. One mow per month – December, January and February.
- 43 mowing service program includes service every week – March through October. Then, during Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb, it’s every other week, for a total of 43 visits.
Are there additional services I should consider with my mowing?
Things like planting bed maintenance, adding and removing plants for seasonal color, twice-yearly leaf removal, mulching of beds, and more, are all available; and complete fertilization plans for turf, shrubs and trees can be added to both the Premier and Basic plans. Talk to one of our lawn specialists for details on any of these add-ons.

“I almost never leave Google Reviews, but I had such an amazing experience I can’t help but share. I’m a 23 year old girl. I came downstairs to see a huge cockroach this morning, and they terrify me! I hid myself in my office & left the roach downstairs. I called around & when I called ABC, 1) Mary spoke with me on the phone and was so kind and understanding. I told her I’m hiding in my office & I need someone to come today, Brandon showed up an hour later. 2) Brandon was incredible. Not only did he look & find my cockroach, he killed it for me. I tried to tip him cash, he would not take it. I would’ve NEVER signed up for the bimonthly pest control, but because of his kindness and patience with me, I told him to sign me up! 3) Mason comes by THAT DAY to spray. He walks me through the entire process of what he uses inside & what he uses outside, and explains it to me. He gave me tips of things that I can tell maintenance to fix to help future bugs stay out (aka my back door). Not only that, he gave me advice for my tree that was hanging over the fence. He took his time & did not rush. He was extremely respectful & genuinely cared about my home & my unreasonable fear of cockroaches. As a female, I am always cautious, but I have never felt so safe with strangers. I would trust them to come in my home when I’m not there, heck I would even give them a key! What stood out to me the most was how they validated my fear & took care of my home. They didn’t make fun of me or judge me, but actually helped me. I genuinely feel like they treated me the same way they treat their family. I will never use another pest company, they now have my loyalty forever. I would’ve just paid for a one time service, but because of Brandon & Mason I will use this company until I die, and then my kids will use this company.”

Rats can quickly turn a comfortable home into a stressful situation. But the more you understand about their behavior, the easier it is to stop them in their tracks.
