What’s the best time to water my lawn?
We recommend running your irrigation system in the early morning so that your plants can more readily access the moisture that promotes healthy plant growth. Watering in the afternoon increases the chances of the moisture evaporating and never reaching the root systems of your plants and grass. Avoid running your sprinklers at nighttime, because water is less likely to dry. Excessive moisture during that part of the day puts your yard at a higher risk for fungus and mildew.
How much and often should I water my lawn?
Your ABC lawn technician can create a customized watering schedule for you based on your yard and plants. Our pros can also recommend how much time to program each of your stations to run. Some factors we take into account are seasonal nutrient requirements of your landscape, your soil type, what type of sprinkler heads you have, what species of grass is in your yard and your sun exposure.
