What pest control services do you provide in Huntsville?

If it crawls or flies, chances are that our skilled technicians can handle your pest problem. With decades of experience serving Texas homeowners as the largest independently-owned and operated pest control company in the entire state, we have experience tackling even the toughest infestations.

Although we can help you with any pest on your property, we head out to Huntsville-area homes on a regular basis to provide the following types of pest control services:

An American cockroach

Roach Control

Yikes! That’s the most common reaction Huntsville homeowners have when they spot a cockroach running across their floor. For good reason, as these pests can spread bacteria, contaminate food, leave behind a foul smell and damage paper products and textiles. Worse still, even the cleanest home can become infested, as these resilient creatures can subsist on almost anything and are incredibly hard to manage without professional help. That’s where ABC comes in. Our highly-trained technicians know exactly where roaches rest and breed in your home, so we can apply highly targeted solutions in common problem areas to reduce your roach population and avoid future unwanted encounters.

A mosquito biting someone

Mosquito Control

This tiny, bloodsucking insect is among the most dangerous creatures on the entire planet because of the diseases they can spread, including the Zika and West Nile viruses. In addition to the serious health risks these pests pose to our families, biting mosquitoes can take the fun out of spending time in your yard. Thankfully, ABC can protect your family from mosquitoes with scientifically-proven methods. Through the use of targeted solutions designed to both eliminate mature mosquitoes and neutralize mosquito breeding areas, we can help you take the bite out of time spent in your outdoor spaces.

A termite on a piece of wood

Termite Control

A dangerous pest might be destroying your biggest investment—and you might have no idea. What pest, and how? Termites, known as “silent destroyers”, are blamed for billions of dollars of damage to U.S. homes annually. The species that puts your home at the highest risk of structural issues is the subterranean termite, which lives in colonies of up to one million members. These cellulose-loving creatures tunnel through the ground to arrive at your foundation, where they feast on wood far out of sight and reach of homeowners. What’s the best way to protect your home? Regular inspections, which ABC’s knowledgeable termite experts can perform. If you suspect you might have a termite problem, prompt action can help minimize your losses. Our technicians can eliminate the colony and apply treatments which can protect your home going forward.

A bed bug crawling on someone

Bed Bug Control

Bed bugs are on the rise nationwide for a number of reasons, including our increased travel patterns. These tiny pests hide in the smallest cracks in your bedding, furniture and even baseboards, only emerging in the dead of night to feed on our blood when we are fast asleep. While waking up to itchy, irritating bites is aggravating, finding these parasitic creatures is even harder, making these pests one of the hardest to control—even for professionals. ABC can get to even the most hard-to-reach areas in your home through fumigation and spot treatments so that the bed bugs won’t bite you again.

A rat sitting on a roof

Rodent & Wildlife Control

Rats, mice, possums and squirrels are just a few of the larger pests that can become a nuisance to homeowners here in Huntsville. Worse still, these animals can chew through electrical wiring, contaminate food, leave unsightly and dangerous droppings, spread disease and carry in other pests, including fleas and ticks. ABC can evict these unwelcome houseguests and install protective measures to prevent these creatures from returning. We can also provide you with recommendations on how to make your property less attractive to rodents and wildlife so that you can rest easy that these animals don’t make your residence theirs.

A tick crawling on someone

Tick & Flea Control

With our proximity here in Huntsville to a number of outdoor recreational activities, the reality is that we come into contact with our fair share of ticks and fleas. While a flea problem can make everyone in your household miserable, especially your pets, a single tick can transmit debilitating illnesses to your family, including Lyme disease. A few of the challenges of controlling flea and tick infestations on your own are that treatment solutions are only effective during certain stages of the pest’s life cycle and that these pests can easily be reintroduced to your home after time spent outside. At ABC, our in-depth knowledge of pest behavior and habits help inform our treatment programs. Our techniques will not only address your current problem but also help prevent a recurrence.

A wasp nest on the side of a house

Wasp & Bee Control

If you have ever been stung by a bee or wasp, you know it’s not something you wish to experience again. That’s why when you discovered a bee hive or wasp nest on your property, you were concerned. Not to mention, if you or a family member are allergic to bee or wasp stings, having a nest on your property can result in serious consequences. When you contact ABC for bee or wasp control, a specialist will be able to eradicate, remove or relocate the nest, based on your preferences. Then, we will seal up other areas future stinging insects could use to nest on your property.

Two ants coming out of a nest

Ant Control

Huntsville is home to a wide variety of ant species, including crazy ants, odorous house ants, carpenter ants and fire ants. In addition to leaving you with excruciating, swollen bites, fire ants can leave your yard with unsightly mounds. Dealing with fire ants on your own can be a pain—quite literally—and the longer you ignore the problem, the more you risk your children and pets getting bitten. ABC’s experienced technicians can take care of any type of ant infestation so that you can rest easy with the knowledge that your ant problem is a thing of the past.

A black widow spider

Spider & Scorpion Control

Here in Huntsville, homeowners can also run across a few other types of creatures while sorting through items in the garage, getting down decorations from the attic and working in the yard: scorpions and spiders. Some species are dangerous, while others are harmful, but few of us can tell which is which. ABC’s experienced technicians can determine which species you need to steer clear of and provide you with recommendations on how to avoid any future unwanted encounters. In addition, we can provide ongoing service to keep spiders and scorpions away from areas you’d rather they not be.

A specialist applying natural pest control in Huntsville

Natural Pest Control

Demand for low-impact pest control has been growing in the Huntsville area. In response, ABC has launched Chem-free Organic Pest control, which is a more holistic approach to pest control. While both companies encompass the values of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Chem-free takes a more natural approach to deter pests. Your Chem-free specialist will begin with making minor modifications to your environment to make it less attractive to pests, such as by sealing up cracks or moving vegetation away from the exterior of your home. Only when it is deemed necessary to properly control the infestation will your specialist recommend chemical interventions. Our dedication to a low-impact approach has led us to become GreenPro Certified, a distinction that sets us apart from 99% of pest control companies across the nation.

What happens during the inspection?

Here at ABC, we believe that an effective treatment plan is built on a strong foundation of fully understanding your pest problem, how it started and how the infestation developed. We recommend our customers undergo an inspection so that we can gather the information we need to customize a treatment plan for you.

What happens during this inspection? An ABC representative will meet with you, at your earliest convenience, to do the following:

  • Identify which pest species are active in your home and yard
  • Document any associated damage
  • Assess the extent of your infestation
  • Find how pests are arriving in your yard and home and what might be attracting them
  • Determine unique characteristics on your property which might make you more susceptible to an infestation
  • Provide you with the opportunity to ask your specialist any questions you might have about our treatment methods

Once the inspection is complete, ABC will send along a suggested treatment plan with associated costs. Your first service call can be scheduled once you have a chance to review and approve this estimate.

What happens after the inspection?

After we have received your approval of our recommended next steps, we will put your first service call on the schedule. In most cases, we can get this appointment scheduled within 3 to 4 business days.

During your regularly scheduled follow-up appointments, you can expect your pest control specialist to treat any outdoor areas where pests may be hiding as well as treat any potential entry points. Examples of potential entry points we commonly treat include wall voids, weep holes and air conditioning lines. Next, we will inspect your property for any new factors that could be attracting crawling pests to your property. Based on what we find, we may recommend making minor modifications to your environment to prevent pests such as cockroaches and ants. Some recommendations we might make include changing your lawn watering schedule or moving firewood away from the foundation of your home.

Because pest activity is high in Huntsville, we usually suggest that our customers sign up for ongoing pest management. Our customers who sign up for this plan benefit from routinely scheduled appointments where one of our specialists will assess their property for any new signs of pest activity, replenish any needed products and apply preventative treatments. With this program, you can have peace of mind that pest populations will stay low on your property throughout the year.

How often will you service my property?

Since each treatment plan is customized, we cannot give you an accurate idea of how long we will need to treat your property before speaking with you first. Some of the factors which can impact the number of treatments you will need include the time of year you contact us, what pest species are responsible for your infestation and the extent of your problem.

We understand that many homeowners would like to hear that their pest problem will be resolved in just a few visits. Unfortunately, pest pressure is high in Huntsville and we typically recommend multiple treatment calls so we can monitor the situation. Monitoring will ensure that you are protected even after a full reproductive cycle, so that no new eggs hatch and so that you can avoid a continued pest problem.

Since so much pest activity follows a seasonal cycle, ABC offers a pest management program for Huntsville homeowners. This option is designed to keep pest populations on your property low throughout the year.

What if I still see pests after a treatment?

Due to the nature of our treatments, you may still see pests after our treatments. Any pest activity 7 to 10 days after our initial treatment is considered normal. When we treat pests, we target their hiding and nesting areas. As the product takes effect, the pests will realize that their current living areas are no longer safe and will start searching for a new place to congregate. However, the pests will unknowingly be bringing the product with them to wherever they go next, leading to the entire population becoming diminished.

That said, if you’re still seeing quite a bit of pest activity anywhere from 7 to 30 days after our initial treatment, give us a call. We would be happy to send a specialist back to your home, at no additional cost.

Are the products which you use pet and kid-friendly?

As a family-run business, we understand that homeowners might be considered about pest control products. This is why we have a thorough research process in place when it comes to selecting which products we will use. We only select a product that we would feel comfortable using on our own homes, and we only use products that are manufactured for residential use. During your initial inspection, your specialist will determine the lowest concentration of chemicals to use to be both low-impact and effective. If you have any other questions or concerns regarding the products that we use, your specialist would be happy to address them.

Do you service commercial facilities?

Absolutely! ABC understands that commercial facilities have different requirements when it comes to pest control which is why we have technicians who are trained to service a variety of different industries. When you contact ABC for commercial pest control, you can feel confident that we will create a pest management plan that fits your business’ needs.

Why should I choose ABC for my pest control?

There are many reasons our long-time Huntsville customers tell us they keep coming back to ABC. The first thing we hear is that we provide the most effective, long-term treatments that are also low-impact. Then, we learn that customers appreciate that we hire only the best of the best and conduct thorough background checks and drug testing on all employees. Last, and certainly not least, we treat our customers’ homes as we would our own.
