ABC’s specialists have in-depth knowledge of pest habits and behavior and follow of the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). IPM is is an approach that has been endorsed by many reputable organizations, including the Environmental Protection Agency. IPM focuses on making minor modifications to your environment to make it less appealing to pests, and then turning to chemical interventions when necessary.
When you contact ABC for pest control, we will assess not just the pests you’re dealing with, but also your surroundings. We will work to determine why these bugs and critters are on your property and how we can make changes to make the environment less suitable for the pests. We typically recommend changes such as moving firewood away from the exterior of your home or changing your watering schedule to limit excess moisture around your property.
We will come out for an initial assessment at no charge. In order to create the most effective treatment plan for your property, we often prefer to get a better understanding of your pest problem in person.
During this inspection, you can expect your ABC technician to:
- Discuss your pest problem with you and ask about what you’ve been noticing in and around your home
- Conduct an initial inspection to locate areas of pest activity and possible pest entry points
- Assess your property for any pest-related damage
- Determine if there are any environmental factors or structural issues that make your property more susceptible to a pest infestation
- If needed, identify the species of pest
- Give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pests or our protocols
Upon completion of our inspection, your ABC specialist will provide you with a customized pest control management plan. When we receive your approval of our estimate, we will schedule your first service call.
ABC has been providing pest control in Schertz and throughout the San Antonio metro since 1949. With our decades of experience, we have learned the best ways to control pests in the area. The extensive training program our specialists go through before performing service calls incorporates this knowledge. Not only are our specialists highly-trained, but they are also drug tested and background checked before receiving a job offer. As a family-run business, one of our values is that we treat our customers’ homes as if they were our own. Whenever ABC specialists arrive at your home, you can feel confident that they will leave your property in better condition than they found it.
How quickly can you come to my home?
At ABC, we understand that if you’re feeling overwhelmed by a pest problem, you want a professional at your home promptly. Get in contact with us and we will send a technician to your property for an inspection as soon as possible. In some cases, we can even offer you a complimentary estimate over the phone.
Because there are a wide variety of factors that can make a pest problem unique, an in-person visit is often recommended to get the first-hand information we need to create an effective treatment plan. Once you contact us, we will put an inspection on our calendar for an initial assessment. At the end of this assessment, your technician will provide you with a customized treatment plan. When you approve our estimate, we will get your first treatment call on the schedule.
Can you protect my home year-round?
Due to the fact that it is warm here in Schertz nearly all year, many homeowners struggle with pests for most months out of the year. Because of this, ABC offers an ongoing treatment program. Our customers who sign up for this program benefit from regularly scheduled treatments to control populations of the most common pests in the area: roaches, spiders, scorpions and ants.
What can ABC do about honey bees?
ABC understands the important role of honey bees in our ecosystem. If we determine you have a problem with bees on your property, we can provide you with the contact information for a local beekeeper who can assist with removing these stinging insects.
Do I need to be present for you to perform the necessary treatment?
As a family-run business, we understand that you would likely prefer to spend your free time taking your kids to Pickrell Park or going on a walk through Warbler Woods Bird Sanctuary, and not waiting around for your pest control technician. This is why we do offer outside-only services for our routinely scheduled ongoing treatments. In these cases, we just ask that you provide us with any directions needed to gain access to your yard.
For your initial inspection, we do prefer that you be present so we can ask any questions we have about what you’ve been experiencing and any other information that would be difficult to explain over the phone. Depending on the pest situation, we may recommend an application of products indoors, outdoors or a combination of the two. If indoor treatments are necessary for us to control the problem, we will ask that you are home during these appointments.
