ABC’s technicians are equipped with a deep understanding of pest behavior so they can implement effective measures to prevent pests from coming onto your property in the first place. ABC has been serving homeowners in Texas for decades, allowing us to grow into the largest independently owned and operated pest control companies in the state. We owe our continued successes to a proven process built around the tenets of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), an approach that is endorsed by many other reputable organizations, including the Environmental Protection Agency.
The principles of IPM place emphasis on effective, low impact and low-cost pest control. This holistic approach incorporates knowledge from entomology, biology, animal behavior and horticulture to enable our technicians to create treatment plans that are both effective and minimize the impact on the environment.
Part of the reason our customers appreciate that we implement the IPM approach is because we are dedicated to using non-chemical interventions whenever possible. Part of our pest inspection process includes determining why these pests have come on to your property and taking steps to make your home and yard less attractive to these pests. We will also inspect your home and yard for areas with excess moisture that could be attracting pests such as mosquitoes, cockroaches and termites. To minimize sources of moisture, we may recommend changing your lawn watering schedule or moving your compost pile further from your home’s exterior. Other common recommendations we make include clearing leaves, regularly mowing your lawn, moving firewood and other vegetation away from your home’s foundation and trimming back tall bushes. All of these steps are low impact and low-cost ways to make your property less vulnerable to a pest infestation.
At ABC, we create customized treatment plans which are the most effective for your specific property and infestation. After you contact us, an ABC inspector will typically come to your home to get a better understanding of the problem. During this inspection, your pest control specialist will:
- Ask questions about where you’ve seen any pests or pest activity
- Assess your property to locate the pests and any potential entry points
- Take note of any pest-related damage
- Evaluate your property for any factors that make you more vulnerable to a pest infestation
- Identify the species of pest, if necessary
- Answer any questions you may have regarding the pests or our pest control protocols.
After this inspection, we will provide you with a free estimate for our recommended next steps. Once you have approved the estimate, we will schedule your first service call.
Homeowners in Texas have been relying on ABC for pest control services since 1949. One reason we are now the largest pest control company in the entire state of Texas is that we have developed a thorough training program. Also, as a family-run business, one of our core values is that we treat your home as if it was our own. For that reason, we have every employee pass a drug test and background check before being hired. Our customers know that their home is in good hands, and they can be taking a dip in Jacob’s Well or Blue Hole Regional Park or taking a drive along Devil’s Backbone while our team members are working on their property.
How long will I need to wait for my service call?
We understand that when you see a roach, rat, mouse or another type of bug or wild animal on your property, you probably want it taken care of, and fast. That’s why when you contact ABC, we will schedule an inspection of your property as soon as possible. Depending on the extent of the infestation and the pest, we may even be able to give you an estimate for our services over the phone.
In most cases, we recommend having one of our certified technicians meeting with you in person to assess the problem first-hand. We can typically schedule this appointment within a few business days. After our specialist inspects your property, they will recommend a treatment plan that is customized for your situation. Once you have reviewed this free, no-obligation estimate and given us your approval, we will schedule your first appointment.
What does a typical service call look like?
What’s the usual duration for your pest control treatments?
Unfortunately, there is not a one-size-fits-all solution to pest control. Every treatment plan we offer is customized for the situation, meaning that some problems will require more treatment visits than others. We understand that most homeowners would like their pest problem to be resolved in a few visits. Since some pests are seasonal, we usually recommend ongoing preventative treatments to prevent a future infestation and ensure that the current pest population is controlled.
Will I need to plan to be at home for every treatment?
We know that having a problem with pests is a disruption to your routine. We also understand that it can be difficult to be home for every service call. To help make our customers’ lives easier, we offer outside-only services. Customers who opt for these recurring visits have their home’s exterior and yard treated on a regular basis. We just ask that if you choose this option, you provide our technicians with any directions needed to gain access to your property, like gate codes.
